African Friendship Society is rooted in our values of Friendship,
Community and Heritage.
We are proud of our culture and excited about sharing it with You.
Together, let’s take a journey of Joy, Belonging and Celebration!
Africa is the birthplace of a rich and compassionate cultural heritage. We provide cultural education and create opportunities to truly get to know each other, beyond clichés, prejudice and discrimination. We build a bridge and extend the hand of friendship to all cultures to create a more culturally educated, accepting and inclusive Canadian and global community.
We welcome you in our Village and give you the opportunity to truly experience African cultures, history and traditions in respect and friendship, while embracing and celebrating our Canadian diversity.
We love our friends, so feel free to visit at any of our events.

Sawubona is a Zulu greeting that means "I see you." It means more than the traditional "hello." It says, "I see You. I see your Soul. I see your humanity. I see your dignity and respect." In the African village context, where everyone knows one another, it's a very powerful way to acknowledge the true essence of a person. Join us on this Journey of Friendship.
